Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) corn futures ended lower on Thursday for a third straight session on technical selling and an absence of market-moving news, traders said. CBOT March corn settled down 1-3/4 cents at $3.77 a bushel after dipping to $3.75-3/4, a one-week low.

The International Grains Council raised its estimate of 2018-19 world corn production to 1.076 billion tonnes, up 3 million from its last monthly report. US farmers are likely to plant corn on 90.3 million acres in 2019, up 1.3 percent from 2018, and cut soyabean plantings to 84.6 million acres, down about 5 percent year-on-year, according to the results of a Farm Futures email survey of 626 growers.
